Terms and Conditions

Current Turnaround Times:
Ready made stock: 4 working days
Custom orders: 14 working days

Delivery:
Orders under 2kg in weight will be delivered via Royal Mail. Please note that if you select the signed for option, somebody will need to be available to sign for the package upon delivery. If you choose Standard 1st or 2nd class postage, please be aware you are accepting the risk that comes with this delivery service, as your parcel cannot be tracked or located. We obtain proof of postage for every parcel sent and can provide this at your request. For this reason we will not replace orders that have been lost when sent using Standard 1st or 2nd Class services. We will refund once we have claimed the money back from Royal Mail for the lost parcel. Parcels that exceed 2kg in weight will be sent with MyHermes as this exceeds Royal Mail’s weight limit for small parcels.

Open Boxes:
At HiKo Scented Wax we understand that postage costs can be a pain if you want to order little and often, so we give our customers the option to use an open box service. 
At checkout, you will see three Open Box option: Start a new open box, add to a current open box and close my open box. 
The first time you place an order, select Start a new open box. This will indicate to me that you would like your products to be held to one side. The next time you place an order, you can choose ‘add to a current open box’ and I will put these products in a box with any products you have already ordered. You can use this option as many times as you like and each time, I will continue to add any products to your open box. When you’re ready to receive your goodies, select ‘close my open box’. I will then send everything in your box to you at the same time. 
*Please note: When you close your open box, the website will automatically charge you the standard £4.10 rate for an under 2kg parcel. If your open box is over this weight, we will obtain a quote for the postage cost and we will invoice you for the additional fees by Paypal invoice

Local Collection:
If you are local to Coalville, Leicestershire we offer the option to collect your order to save on postage costs. Please place your order via the website as normal, and select ‘Local Collection’ as the delivery option. Ensure you have entered a phone number at checkout as we will use this to contact you to arrange a collection date and time.
Orders can be collected Monday to Friday between the hours of 6:30pm and 8:30pm, subject to my availability.

Turnaround Time:
A guideline current turnaround time will always be displayed on a banner across the website so you are made aware of this before ordering. Please note that turnaround time refers to how many days may pass between placing your order, and that order being taken to the post office. It is not an indication of how long your order will take to arrive to you, as Royal Mail’s postage times need to be added on top of this. During busy periods we retain the right to increase the turnaround time without notice. Custom items refers to any items which have to be made especially for your order (this includes carpet freshener, car freshener, wax boards, burners, heatproof mats, vinyl labels and any wax products ordered from the customs section)

Prices:
It is unavoidable that occasionally our suppliers will increase their prices. This in turn means that we may need to increase our own prices in line with this to ensure HiKo Scented Wax remains a profitable business. We retain the right to increase prices without notice. Price increases will not affect any orders that have already been placed.

Payment:
All products ordered remain the property of HiKo Scented Wax until full payment has been made by you and received by us. Should we refund money for any items they will immediately transfer back to being our property. If for any reason your payment fails we will not be liable for any delays in agreed dispatch times until payment is made. 

Discount Codes:
Most discount codes are available to all of our customers to use. However, from time to time we run discount codes for specific groups of people (those who win competitions or subscribe to our newsletter only for example). If you are at any time found to be using a discount code that was not intended for your personal use, your order will be cancelled and refunded and you will need to replace your order without use of the discount code. If discount codes are available for everyone to use they will be shared publicly on our social media channels. If they are not shared publicly and you have not been told about them directly, assume they are not intended for your use on this occasion.

Accuracy of listings:
We take great care in providing honest and detailed pictures and descriptions of all our products. We take reasonable steps to ensure that all prices are correct at the time of publishing and do reserve the right to decline orders where an error has occurred with the listed price/service. All items are made completely by hand and therefore every batch of melts made will be unique in appearance and may differ from that of the photograph on the listing.

Pet friendly disclaimer:
No essential oils are used in any of our products, we only use fragrance oils. None of these oils or ingredients trigger any hazards to pets and therefore they are pet friendly. However, as with humans, any pet can develop allergies to products even though they are classified as safe. We recommend you to monitor animals closely and if any ill effects of the products are noted, cease use immediately. Should veterinary treatment be required, take the ingredients label of the product with you.
When the website refers to pets, it is referring to cats and dogs.
Scented products should never be used around birds and any other household pets, you should research the potential effect of scented products on their respiratory system before use.

Vinyl Colour Swatches:
When choosing vinyl colours, the listed colour swatches are as an example only, actual product colour may differ in person. This is due to the fact that every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours and that everyone sees these colours differently. We try to edit our photos to show the samples as life-like as possible, but please understand the actual colour may vary slightly from what you see on your screen. We cannot guarantee that the colour you see accurately portrays the true colour of the product.

Returns Policy:
Once an order has been dispatched we will only be able to refund you if you return the items to us. If you want to return your order to us it must reach us within 7 working days from the day after the day you received it. Once received we will process your refund within 7 days of receiving your return and cancellation advice. Refunds are offered for faulty items or incorrect orders but unfortunately we cannot offer refunds for orders in which you decide upon receipt you dislike the scent. We try our hardest to provide a detailed scent description for every melt listed in the store and it is up to you to ensure before ordering that you are happy with the fragrances included. Refunds are not offered on custom orders unless they are damaged upon receipt

Privacy:
We value your right to privacy and therefore any personal details collected from you for the purpose of processing and delivering your order will be held in the strictest of confidence. We will only use this information in a lawful manner in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Your information (address, phone number and/or email address) will need to be passed on to any couriers to facilitate your delivery, but will not be passed on to any other companies aside from this.


Additional Terms:
Certain times of the year are busier than others, when special occasions such as Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day etc occur. During these times depending upon numbers of orders receive we reserve the right to change our usual time scale for processing and dispatching orders. Please order in advance to ensure you have your products on time. 

If you have requested a custom order that needs to be made up specially, you will be given an estimated time for processing/dispatch at the time of ordering. Wax products need to be made and then allowed a certain amount of time to cure before they are ready to be sent out and we can give you a time frame for this based on the size of your order.
